FANNY OLSSON.
Between Knowing and Understanding I prefer Feeling.
I found what I was looking for. Now I learn to embody it
.

Yoga has been a growing part of my life since I took my first yoga class almost 15 years ago. Today I teach full-time, with Gothenburg as my base, and have given myself wholeheartedly to the transformative processes of yoga. I am deeply passionate about the movement of awakening that leads the practitioner towards an ever freer and more intimate experience of life. And I wish for everyone to experience the freedom and trust that spontaneously arises when they discover the ground of their being.
For me, the big shift came when I found non-dual tantra. It was like coming home to a place I had been looking for everywhere. . . except within myself. It was a homecoming that led to radical acceptance of who I am, and my body, and I was able to let go of anxiety and self-destructive behaviors. It was the end of my search, but the true beginning of my spiritual path. Hence, I have a deep love for tantra, and it’s philosophy and attitude pervades all my teaching. My goal is the goal of the tantric path - to live an awakened life (jivanmukti = living liberated / embodied enlightenment) - and this is what I want for you too. (More on tantra below.)
As a former medical biologist, I am also something of a "body nerd”. I just love how AMAZING the physical body is with all its cells forming systems that form a whole (which is part of a larger unity!). I get all excited about the beautiful intelligence of Nature. The way she grows in patterns that connects your bones with the spiraling galaxies of cosmos (okay.. a lot exited). However, though I find inspiration in my studies of biology, I leave the bulk of information in my own mind. I am always more interested in guiding you to the felt sense of the body's various layers and systems. It is in the presence there, that you can come into contact with the ground of consciousness itself.
Today I teach vinyasa yoga inspired by Embodied Flow ™, as well as Embodied yin ™ and restorative yoga. Each body is unique, and it is something that is honored in these forms of yoga. Therefore, you will not encounter so much classic alignment if you come to my classes, rather a guidance that I hope will help YOU to get to know YOUR body so that you can allow the asana to emerge from within, with the optimal alignments for you. Your attitude is of great importance in yoga, and will directly affect what you experience or “get out of your practice”. For example, taste the difference in mindset between trying to fit the body into an aesthetic template for each position, and to allow the position to become an expression of your unique constitution and experience. The latter, according to me, has the greatest potential for radical acceptance and freedom. We cannot transform what we don’t meet.
I study primarily with Anja Bergh, Satu Tuomela, and Tova Olsson (philosophy, sadhana), but I am also greatly inspired by Christopher Hareesh Wallis (tantra and meditation), Tara Judelle (co-founder of Embodied Flow ™) and Sally Kempton (meditation). I am part of the Authentic Flow Tribe (RYS), and teach the module VESSEL 100H TT together with Marie Romani.
Lakshmi - Goddess of the marrow.
November 27th
10am WET/GMT
ONLINE
RECORDINGS AVAILABLE FOR 48 hours
The goddess Lakshmi is associated with success, prosperity, and abundance. However, though she is famous for giving material boons, her deeper gift is that of the subtle ability to experience innate perfection, beauty and harmony with what we already have and where we are at.
She teaches us santosha (contentnent), and reciprocity - the fine balance of giving and receiving that moistens, and sweetens life.
In this 90 minutes session we will meet Lakshmi though her myth, imagery, mudra and mantra, followed by a movement exploration of yielding that lands us in the bone marrow(connected to Lakshmi's life-sustaining shakti). The movement session is designed to be nourishing and accessible to all.
